Thank you for choosing to book with Clare Island Lighthouse. We look forward to welcoming you to our lighthouse on Clare Island. By making this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.


The price includes accommodation, heat, electricity and gas inclusive of VAT.

Rates do not include: Transport to and from the Island or taxi transfers to the Lighthouse on arrival and departure.


By special arrangement we may allow dogs to stay, providing that they are kept on a lead at all times when outside the lighthouse complex.

Additional cleaning fee dependent on number and types of doggies.

Booking Confirmation & Deposit

Non-Refundable 20% deposit required to confirm all bookings, payable by Visa or PayPal. All bookings are confirmed by email.

The balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.

For booking confirmation we require photo ID of the person making the booking.

Cancellation and Insurance

By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. We would recommend that you take out cancellation insurance to cover this cost.

If you need to cancel, please contact us immediately.

For cancellations made up to 6 weeks before your booked stay you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time, or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full. We will exercise this right at our discretion.
If you need to cancel your booking due to adverse weather conditions or exceptional family circumstances, we are happy to transfer your booking to another date, if at all possible, without loss of your original deposit. Please contact us to discuss.

Non-availability of Accommodation

We would only cancel your stay if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. If this should occur, we will refund all monies paid.

Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.


Your accommodation will be available to you from 2.30pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will be busy preparing your rooms. Please notify us of your estimated time of arrival if possible (a telephone call on the day before or morning of arrival is fine).

Late arrival procedure

Please ensure you contact us to let us know if you will be arriving late, and your new estimated time of arrival.

Room Vacation

Please vacate your room by 11.00am, unless otherwise arranged.
